TrueVision Appoints Eric D. Donnenfeld, MD, to its Board of Directors
SANTA BARBARA (January 7, 2008) - TrueVision Systems, Inc., the leading provider of 3D, high-definition vision systems for microsurgery, announced the appointment of Eric D. Donnenfeld, M.D., F.A.A.O, F.A.C.S. to its board of directors. Dr. Donnenfeld, a highly regarded New York ophthalmologist, is a leading surgeon in techniques using advanced technology for the correction of vision.  The TrueVision® product is a patented, real-time, 3D HD vision system for microsurgery.

Eric D. Donnenfeld, M.D., F.A.A.0, F.A.C.S.
Eric D. Donnenfeld, MD FAAO, FACS, a founding partner of Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, Rockville Centre, New York (and Connecticut), graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1977 and was first in his class at Dartmouth Medical School in 1980. He was a resident and Chief Resident at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York City and completed a cornea fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1985.

Dr. Donnenfeld has served as Resident Instructor at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and as Program Director at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. He is Director of Cornea at Nassau University Medical Center and Surgical Director of the Lions Eye Bank for Long Island, Manhasset, New York. Dr. Donnenfeld is a trustee of Dartmouth Medical School.
Dr. Donnenfeld is one of the leading cataract and refractive surgeons in the United States and has trained hundreds of physicians to perform surgery.  He has patented 4 surgical instruments and has been an FDA investigator on over 40 trials including the excimer laser, phakic IOLs, multifocal IOLs, and many pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Donnenfeld has served as president of many professional societies, including the Nassau Surgical Society, the Ophthalmology Division of the Nassau Academy of Medicine, the ASCRS cornea committee, and the Ocular Microbiology Group.  He has received the honor award, senior honor award and the secretary award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  He has written more than 160 peer-reviewed papers on cornea, external disease, and cataract and refractive surgery, and 15 book chapters and books. He is on the editorial boards of 7 journals. Dr. Donnenfeld recently received the Nordan award at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery as the outstanding cataract and refractive surgeon for 2005.
